The final installment of the 2014 Cinescopio film series
happened March 20, 2014, and Derek was there. The movie? Santo
and Blue Demon Against the Monsters (dir. Gilberto Martínez
Solares). The event? A Monster Kid Radio Crash. Derek was joined by
MKR listeners/crashers Tom Daufel, Ray Jelinek, and Chris McMillan
for a night of masked wrestling, monsters, Santo, Blue Demon, a
creepy little monster dude that scared Derek more than any other
monster in the film, a fashion show, a panel (featuring Mega Boy
and Ideal Mexican, moderated by John Cárdenas) . . . and plenty of
laughs. This was an amazing night, and Derek had his recorder on
hand to share the evening with the Monster Kid Radio listeners who
couldn't make the show.
