Friend of the show Stephen D. Sullivan returns to Monster Kid Radio this week, and he's bringing three movies with him . . . sort of. Steve and Derek start their discussion with the 1962 Soviet science fiction film Planeta bur (dir. Pavel Klushantsev). This film leads into 1965's Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet (dir. Curtis Harrington), which then leads into and 1968's Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women (dir. Peter Bogdanovich). Just how this works is something Steve and Derek tackle in this episode. Also we have some of your favorite segments - Professor Frenzy's Bedtime Stories, Kenny's Look at Famous Monsters of Filmland, and Dr. Tongue's World of Monster Collectibles. (And special thanks to Chérie "Rhuby" Gallinati and Mark Haider for their work on the Monster Hunter for Hire promo!) Last week, we were in the 70s. This week, we're going all the way back to 1927 when Charles Babbage joins Derek to discuss the iconic film Metropolis (dir. Fritz Lang). (After viewing the 2010 restoration, Derek can tell you . . . repeatedly . . . that he was blown away!) Also, Kenny's Famous Monsters of Filmland highlights how the film was represented in the magazine. Professor Frenzy has another bedtime story for us, and Captain Billy shares his thoughts on the recent passing of Ron Sweed, aka the horrorhost known as The Ghoul.
